The group of baby foxes at 3 weeks of age.
Dear Friends of Ohio Nature Education,
Hello from the Ohio Nature Education foxes! We have been asked to write this letter this year on behalf of the rest of the animals because we are new. We're sure you know our mother and father, Lolo and Kit. Well, last year, when Mrs. Van closed the door between their cages during mating season, our parents weren't going to take that lying down. So apparently, our mother, being a sly fox, got into dad's cage and surprise! A couple of months later, along came six of us! Mrs. Van keeps calling it her "oops" moment, and we don't know what that means, but it must be something serious. Just last month, she packed up all the boy foxes (3) and took us to the Johnstown Animal Hospital where Dr. Terrant neutered us. We can't be released into the wild because our mother was raised on a fur farm and is not a pure blood native Ohio fox. So ONE now provides a home for 8 foxes, bringing the total "critter count" to 50! Every once in a while you can hear Mr. Van grumbling about how all she needs is a darned partridge in a pear tree.
Anyway, we hope that this letter finds you well and enjoying the fall weather. We're getting all snug and ready for winter in our nice homes out here at ONE, and we thought that this would be the perfect time to ask all of you to help us stay comfortable and well-fed all winter!

Mrs. Van was telling us that the holidays are around the corner. She said that this is a very busy time for people and that you'll soon be out doing some holiday shopping. We hope that you enjoy safe travels and a Happy Holiday season and that you don't forget about us.
Each of us -- except for the tarantulas and Red rat snakes -- faced being put to sleep if ONE hadn't come to the rescue. ONE has provided us with safe and secure homes and good food, and we get to live out the rest of our lives with these great folks!
But ONE needs your help to take care of us. ONE receives no State or Federal funds, and supports itself solely from the money we animals earn by going out and visiting you! That's right. The only funds that ONE earns are those from program fees, donations and grants.
We work hard for our money, and we welcome any tax deductible contributions you can make. You can also lend a hand by visiting the Wild Birds Unlimited Stores in Westerville at 399 S. State Street and in Reynoldsburg at 6839 East Broad Street. Each of these businesses has a display with "wish list" items that you can purchase for us. Anything you can do will make a big difference!

At 7 months of age, the baby foxes look more adult-like.
Thanks!! And Happy Holiday Season!
